Butterfly Thank You Card

I made this thank you card for a friend and it came out so cute I thought I’d share it with my bloggies Smile

DSCN4539

The card is a standard A2 size (4 1/4 x 5 1/2).

What I used ~

All paper and ribbon is from Stampin Up! – Bashful Blue, Wild Wasabi, Pumpkin Pie, and I don’t have the name of the patterned paper.  The ribbon is Whisper White.

The butterfly is cut at 3” from the Create A Critter cart (my FAV!), and his little face is from Peachy Keen Stamps Wide Eyed Kids Asst.

I used the Bloom Dots Cuttlebug folder to emboss the blue background.

The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper Buggy Punnies stamp set.

White gel pen.

Mount Rushmore layout 2009

From Colorado Springs we traveled to Wyoming and South Dakota, beautiful states Smile

Here’s my Mount Rushmore layout ~

DSCN4535

Note:  I was going to post another layout I did of the Crazy Horse Memorial, but I realized that I put it on paper that says “Wyoming”, and it’s actually in South Dakota (DUH!).  My family all looked at the layout several times and no one caught that it was in the wrong state…geesshh!  Once I redo that layout I’ll post it, but trust me it came out really cute Smile

Colorado Springs 2009 layout

From our house we went straight to Colorado Springs to see our family.  Now I have to tell ya about this layout.  I bought the paper like I said in 2009, when we got back from our trip.  I LOVED the colors of the paper and this was going to be the first thing that I ever scrapbooked in my life so I wanted something kinda dummy proof.

This is what the paper looked like when I started ~

When I started working with my pictures and the paper I realized that I wanted to do a two page layout but I didn’t want both pages to say “COLORADO”, I wanted it to be a little more “personalized”.  I dragged out my bins of paper and got this crazy idea in my head about changing the paper, I know – ridiculous huh!  Here’s what I came up with ~

If you click on the 2 bottom squares you can see each individual page and what I did with it.  As you can tell from the original paper style it was a torn look and my Core’dinations paper really came in handy for that Smile.  My colors aren’t EXACTLY the same as the original paper. but I came pretty darn close.  I used liquid applique for the snow on the letters which came out great and gave the original paper a 3-D look.

Layered in layouts :)

The past few days have been pretty busy for me as far as scrapbooking goes, I got in a groove and rode it through Smile

In the summer of 2009 my family and I took a road trip to Colorado Springs to see family and then took in some sights along the way back home.  I always said I was going to scrapbook that trip and other projects got in the way.  In the summer of 2010 my mom and I took a road trip to California, and again I said along the way I was going to scrapbook the trip, and again other projects got in the way.  Well, I was sitting on the couch thinking hhhmmm what could I do?  It hit me – go scrapbook your trips, since you have nothing else in the works – so off I went.  Now mind you, I’ve had the paper for the first trip since I got back in 2009 and it’s just been tucked away for that “rainy” day.  Guess what, that “rainy” day has arrived, so here we go!

The first layout is from 2009, the day we left for the trip with my two dogs, my husband and my mom in a rented van.

Happy Monday!

This weekend was VERY productive for me, I hope it was for everyone else. Smile  On Saturday, I dragged my hubby to meet a woman that was selling a bunch of creative memories stock and I bought a few things.  On Sunday, I was busy all day in my scrap room.  I played with my new toys I bought on Saturday and then decided to get some real work done.

For those of you that don’t know, I scrapbook once a week with the residents at the local nursing home, which is a lot of fun.  Well this past week I actually brought home some “homework” that needed attention from my Cricut.  So I completed one 12 x 12 layout, and one 8 1/2 x 11 layout to take back to the nursing home today.  I also did a 12 x 12 layout of my own (I told ya I was busy) from my vacation pictures from last year (I’m actually 2yrs behind).  Here’s a picture of the 2 pages together.

Here are the pictures of the pages separately.  I’m probably going to get killed when a certain someone sees my blog pictures cause she didn’t want to be on the page let alone on my blog! LOL
